History

The history of Bengali nation's language movement and the great liberation war and the history of Sriramsi High School are built on the same basis. After the partition of India, when the people of East Bengal were busy with the movement for the recognition of Bengali language as the state language of Pakistan, right from the time when the greater Sri Ramsi (Sri Ramsi, Nabinagar, Kadipur, Mashajan and Kachrakeli) then socially conscious, educated, wise and intelligent people demanded to make Bengali the state language. (National demand) In addition, he planned to establish a secondary education institution in the area with the aim of educating the nation and the society in good education in order to free the future generation of the area from the darkness of ignorance. The elders of the larger Sriramsi village decided to establish Sriramsi High School next to Sriramsi Bazar in the middle of Sriramsi village with the advice of the elders of neighboring Chitulia, Pirer Gaon and other areas. After many ups and downs, forgetting all the doubts, in the united efforts of the greater Sri Ramsi village, the moment came on February 6, 1956 AD, when Sri Ramsi High School started its journey in a house built of bamboo and tin on the 56 (fifty six) century old land adjacent to Sri Ramsi Bazar. The present land area of this institution is 2.51 (two acres and fifty-one hundred) acres, a symbol of the unity of Sriramsi village in the activities of the villagers. First recognition as a junior school by the then Comilla Education Board from 01/01/1957 AD, primary permission for humanities of 9th standard from 01/01/1965 AD, secondary recognition from 01/01/1966 AD and 01/01/1970 AD : Gets permission to open science branch in Madhyamik. This educational institution is a silent witness to the brutality of the Pak invading forces during the Great War of Liberation in 1971. 31st August 1971 AD: A shameful day for the simple common people of Sriramsi village and Sriramsi High School. On this day, a team of Pak Army came to Sri Ramsi High School at the instigation of some traitor Razakar. Before the innocent, unarmed people of Sriramsi village knew anything, they were brought to Sriramsi High School and gathered. On that day, the then headmaster late Saad Uddin, religious teacher late Abdul Hai were present in the school. Around a hundred people including the village scholar Murubbi were tied together and brutally killed at two places on the north side of the village. School head teachers, religious teachers outside the village, including Tahsil office officials and many others who are not named were victims of this brutality. Many houses in the area were burnt due to the brutality of the Pakistani forces, many people in the area fled their homes with their families due to fear. A lot of damage is done to schools and markets. After the independence of the country, Shaheed Minar was established in the school premises to commemorate those who were martyred in Sriramsi, and those who were martyred throughout the country during the freedom struggle, including the language movement, and to cherish their memories. . The killing of 31st August gave birth to a new consciousness among the people of the village, that consciousness is called the liberation war consciousness. Believing in this spirit, later the society and the social institution Sriramsi High School has been running. After the War of Independence, this school had a commercial branch for a few years, but it was closed for a while due to lack of sufficient students.
